Your delivery timeframe is how long it’ll take, from receiving the funding, to complete your project and be ready to submit your impact survey. You set it in weeks or months, up to 50, on step 3 of your project (Delivery plan).
What it covers
The clock starts when the funding reaches you, not when you publish the project or when a funder selects it. Your timeframe should include:
- the time to spend the funding and run your activities
- the time to achieve the impact you’ve described
- a little time at the end to gather results for your impact survey
Why it matters
If your project is funded, your timeframe sets your project’s due date, shown in the Your actions panel under Deliver your project on time. Once you mark your project as complete, your impact survey is due 14 days later. We’ll email reminders.
So be realistic. A timeframe that’s too short leaves you overdue. One that’s too long can make a funder wonder about the pace of the project.
How to set it
- Go to step 3 of your project (Delivery plan).
- Under Delivery timeframe, enter a number in Number of.
- Choose Weeks or Months under Period.
The number can’t be more than 50.
Tips for a realistic timeframe
- Count the whole project. Include setup, such as ordering equipment or recruiting participants, as well as the activities themselves.
- Think about the seasons. A gardening project that starts in November may not show results until spring.
- Allow for payment. Funding usually arrives within 7 days of passing due diligence, so plan your start date from then. How long will it take to get paid?
- Check the fund page. Some funds show a Funded projects to be delivered by date. It’s a guide and won’t stop your project matching, but it tells you when the funder hopes projects will be finished. Reading a fund page: criteria and key deadlines
When you finish
When you’ve delivered your project, click Mark as complete in the Your actions panel. You’ll then be sent your impact survey. Marking your project as complete
