Reading a fund page: criteria and key deadlines

Updated on November 6, 2026

Every fund has its own page with its full criteria and dates. Read it before you create or edit a project for that fund. To open one, click View on a fund card.

The criteria

The funder sets every criterion on the page. Your project has to fit them to be considered.

On the fund page What it tells you
Individual grants of at least The least you can ask for, if the funder has set a minimum.
Individual grants of up to The most you can ask for. Your project’s grant size must be within this.
Who can apply? The organisation types the fund accepts.
Focus areas The causes the fund covers. Your project must share at least one.
Location (map) The area the fund covers. Your project’s main activity must take place inside it. Enlarge map to check the boundary.
Beneficiaries The groups of people the funder wants to reach, such as older people or young people. Your project must benefit at least one of them.
Required application format Video pitches and Written pitches means the fund accepts either. Video pitches on its own means the fund only accepts video pitches, and projects with a written pitch aren’t applied to it.
Fund purpose Why the funder is running the fund and what they want to achieve. Use it to shape your pitch.

Total fund amount shows the size of the whole fund, not what one project can get.

The key deadlines

Date What it means
Deadline The last date to apply. Your project must be published and matched (or applied, for Active Apply funds) by then.
Selection deadline When the funder expects to make their final decision. You can usually expect an update within 2 weeks of this date.
Funded projects to be delivered by When the funder would like funded projects finished. It’s a guide, and it doesn’t stop your project matching.

The bar at the top of the page shows Applications close on: and how much time is left.

Dates can move, so the selection deadline is an estimate, not a promise. When will I hear back?

Other tabs on the page

  • About fund: the criteria and dates above.
  • Funded projects: projects the fund has already backed.
  • Updates: progress updates from those funded projects.

These are a good read if you want to know what this funder likes to fund.
