Having trouble delivering your project

Updated on November 6, 2026

If something is getting in the way of your project, contact the ActionFunder team as soon as possible. The earlier you tell us, the more options there are. We’ll work with you and your funder to find a way forward, such as adjusting the project’s scope or timeline.

When to get in touch

Contact us if, for example:

  • your project is running late, or won’t be finished by your due date
  • costs have gone up, or part of your budget won’t stretch as planned
  • your venue, partner or key staff member has dropped out
  • your organisation is facing financial difficulties
  • anything else means you can’t deliver the project you were funded for

You don’t have to wait until you have a solution. Tell us what’s happening and we’ll work it out together.

Asking for more time

You’ll find your due date in the Your actions panel on your project’s management page, under Deliver your project on time. It’s based on the delivery timeframe you set when you created your project. If you’re going to miss it, the panel will show your project as overdue.

If you’re running late, contact us before your due date. Tell us:

  1. your project name and fund
  2. what’s caused the delay
  3. how much extra time you expect to take
  4. anything else that’s changed

We’ll take your request to your funder.

Who decides

Your funder has the final decision on any change to your project, including extensions. Our aim, and theirs, is to see every funded project completed successfully.

Keep your funder in the loop

As well as contacting us, you can message your funder directly from Messages in the left-hand menu. Messaging your funder
