What do non-profits agree to when they accept funding?

Updated on July 22, 2026

When a non-profit accepts a funding invite on ActionFunder, they agree to a small number of requirements designed to keep you informed throughout delivery and give you evidence of impact at the end.

The requirements

Two project updates during delivery

Funded organisations are required to submit at least two progress updates while their project is underway. These updates give you visibility of how the project is progressing – what’s happening on the ground, whether they’re on track, and any changes to their plans.

You’ll receive a notification when each update is submitted, and you can view them directly from your impact dashboard.

An impact survey on completion

Once a project is marked as complete, the funded organisation is prompted to fill in an impact survey. This is a light touch survey that captures what was achieved, who benefitted, and what difference your funding made.

You don’t need to chase this – the survey is triggered automatically when a project reaches the Complete stage.

For a full breakdown of what the impact survey covers, see What does the impact survey ask funded organisations?

Why these requirements matter

The updates and survey are designed to give you the reporting evidence you need without placing a heavy burden on smaller organisations. Non-profits see these requirements before they accept a funding invite, so expectations are clear from the start.
