Most funds on ActionFunder automatically match to projects that meet the fund\u2019s criteria. However, an \u2018Active Apply\u2019 fund works a little differently<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an Active Apply fund, projects are not automatically matched<\/strong>. Instead, you\u2019ll need to actively identify whether you have a suitable project and apply directly via the fund page<\/strong>. This is more akin to the traditional funding application process, where to apply, you have to apply directly to this fund using the \u2018apply now\u2019 button on the fund page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These funds are often more targeted or specific<\/strong>, so it\u2019s important to carefully review the fund criteria before applying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does an Active Apply fund work?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • You won\u2019t be necessarily be automatically notified or matched to this fund<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • You might hear about this fund in a few ways: directly from the funder, via ActionFunder, through your network, or by checking your ActionFunder dashboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • You must apply directly through the fund page<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • You can apply using:

    • An existing ActionFunder project<\/strong> that aligns with the fund criteria, or
      <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • A new project<\/strong> you create specifically for this fund
      <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      How to apply to an Active Apply fund<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      1. Log in to ActionFunder<\/strong>
        <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Visit the fund page<\/strong> and review the criteria carefully. Ask yourself:

        • Does my project align with the fund\u2019s focus?
          <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Is the project based in the required location?
          <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Does the funding amount I\u2019m requesting fall within the minimum and maximum grant amounts?
          <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • If your project is suitable, click \u2018Apply now\u2019<\/strong> on the fund page.
          <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Choose to either:

          • Submit one of your existing projects on ActionFunder, or
            <\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Create a new project to apply with
            <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
