Everyone on your organisation’s ActionFunder account has an organisation role: Admin<\/strong>, Manager<\/strong> or Member<\/strong>. On each grant project, people can also be an Editor<\/strong> or a Viewer<\/strong>. Together, these decide what each person can do and which emails they get.<\/p>\n

To invite colleagues or change their role, go to Settings<\/strong> > Team<\/strong>. Adding team members<\/a><\/p>\n

Organisation roles<\/h2>\n

These apply across your whole organisation account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Admin<\/strong><\/td>\nEverything, with no restrictions. Always has access to every product.<\/td>\nOrganisation emails, and project emails for projects they create (they’re made an Editor on those automatically).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Manager<\/strong><\/td>\nCreate projects, edit the projects they create, and edit the organisation profile. Can’t manage volunteering.<\/td>\nProject emails for projects they’ve created or been assigned to.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Member<\/strong><\/td>\nView projects they’ve been added to, the impact dashboard and other areas in the products they can reach. Can’t make changes. To give a Member access to a project, contact us.<\/td>\nAccount emails only, such as password resets.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Admins don’t get emails about projects created by other people unless they’re added to that project as an Editor.<\/p>\n

Project roles<\/h2>\n

Project roles apply to one project at a time. Being an Editor on one project doesn’t make someone an Editor on another, so add them to each project separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Whoever creates a project becomes its Editor automatically. Admins can do everything on every project, whether or not they have a project role. Project roles can’t be changed in the app, so to add someone to a project as an Editor or Viewer, contact our team.<\/p>\n

Volunteering<\/h2>\n

Volunteering works differently. There are no project roles for volunteering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Admin<\/strong><\/td>\nCreate, edit and manage volunteering opportunities, approve or decline sign-ups, and message volunteers.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Member<\/strong><\/td>\nView volunteering, but can’t make changes.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

If someone on your team manages volunteering, make them an Admin. Volunteers who sign up to your opportunities aren’t part of your team and can’t access your organisation’s account.<\/p>\n

Product access<\/h2>\n

Each person also has product access: Grants<\/strong>, Volunteering<\/strong> or both. Admins always have both. Product access controls what people can reach and which emails they get, for example volunteering sign-up notifications.<\/p>\n

Tips<\/h2>\n

  • Make sure the people delivering a funded project can post updates and mark it complete: either make them an Admin, or ask our team to add them to the project as an Editor.<\/li>\n
  • Check who’s an Admin. Every team must have at least one.<\/li>\n
  • You can change someone’s role at any time, with Change role<\/strong> in Settings<\/strong> > Team<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
