Ask one of your organisation’s admins to invite you from Settings > Team. If you don’t know who the admin is, or they’ve left, contact us and we’ll get the right person access. Don’t create a second account for the same organisation: it splits your projects and can slow down payments.
If you know who the admin is
Ask them to invite you. It takes them a minute. Adding team members
- They click their organisation’s logo at the bottom of the left-hand menu, then Settings > Team.
- They click Invite to team and enter your name and email address.
- You get an email invitation. Click the link in it to set up your login.
Invite links last 14 days. If yours has expired, you’ll see This invite has expired. Ask whoever invited you to click Resend on the Pending invites tab. The new email has a fresh link, and the old one stops working.
No email? Check your junk or spam folder, and add hello@actionfunder.org to your safe senders.
If you saw “An organisation with a similar name is already signed up”
When you sign up, ActionFunder checks for organisations with a similar name and lists them with their city.
- If your organisation is listed, don’t click Create anyway. Click Contact next to it. This opens an email to our team in your own email app, with the subject “Request to join organisation” and the organisation’s name. It doesn’t go to the organisation, and nothing is sent until you send it.
- Add some details before you send it: your name, your role at the organisation, and the email address you’d like to use on ActionFunder. A blank email slows things down, because we have to write back to ask.
- If your organisation isn’t listed, click Create anyway to carry on signing up.
If you don’t know who the admin is, or they’ve left
Every team on ActionFunder must have at least one admin, and admins can’t leave without handing over to someone else. But if your admin has left your organisation without doing that, nobody may be able to sign in.
Contact us at hello@actionfunder.org. Tell us:
- your name and role at the organisation
- the organisation’s name, as it appears on ActionFunder
- the email address you’d like us to add
Write from your work email address if you can. We’ll contact your organisation’s admin to ask for their permission to add you. Once they agree, we’ll add you to the team and you’ll get an invitation email. It’s the same invite as above, so it lasts 14 days.
Once you’re in, make sure anyone who has left is removed from the team (an admin can do this, or we can), and check the organisation’s contact details and key people are up to date. Leaving your organisation · Key people: who to add and why
