What happens after you fund a project

Updated on July 29, 2025

Once you’ve confirmed which projects you’d like to fund, ActionFunder takes care of the next steps to ensure everything runs smoothly from payment through to impact reporting.

Due diligence and payment

After a non-profit accepts your funding invite, ActionFunder carries out due diligence checks to confirm that the organisation and project meet all necessary requirements.

If anything unusual comes up during these checks, we’ll flag it with you before proceeding.

Once due diligence is complete and approved, payment is processed and sent directly to the non-profit.

What non-profits commit to

When non-profits accept your funding, they also agree to:

  • Share at least two project updates during delivery via the platform
  • Complete a final impact survey once the project is finished via the platform

These updates help you track progress and understand the outcomes of your funding — all in one place.

Staying in touch

Want to stay connected with the projects you’re supporting? You can use the in-platform messaging system to:

  • Share relevant information or updates
  • Offer additional opportunities
  • Request a site visit
  • Or simply cheer them on!

Support and next steps

All project updates and impact reports will appear in your dashboard, making it easy to follow progress and share outcomes with your wider team.

If you have any questions, your Customer Success Manager is here to help — or email us at customersuccess@actionfunder.org.
