Creating your funder profile

Updated on July 24, 2025

Your funder profile is the first step to building your presence on ActionFunder. It helps non-profits understand who you are, what you care about, and the kind of projects you want to support. A well completed profile also increases trust and transparency and sets the stage for meaningful community impact.

Why Your Profile Matters

Your profile isn’t just a formality. It’s how the ActionFunder community (non-profits and other funders alike) gets to know your organisation. The more detail you provide, the more relevant the matches and applications you’ll receive for your fund.

How to Create Your Profile

Once you’ve signed up as a funder, you’ll be prompted to create your profile. Here’s what to include:

1. Organisation Name & Logo

Add your official organisation name and upload your logo. This adds credibility and recognisability across the platform.

2. About you

Write a short description of your organisation – who you are, what you do, and what you stand for. This helps non-profits understand your values and motivations as a funder. You’ll also need to fill in other basic information like your phone number and address

3. Online & social presence

You can add your organisation’s website and social media profiles to give non-profits more context about your wider work.

4. Contact Info

This won’t be shared publicly, but having a contact person linked to the account ensures clear communication when needed.

Tips for a Great Profile

  • Be authentic – Write in a tone that reflects your organisation’s personality.
  • Be clear – Make it easy for non-profits to understand your funding goals.
  • Keep it updated – If anything changes about your priorities or organisation, update your profile to reflect that.

Once your profile is live, you’re ready to create and launch your first fund.
